“ I just wrapped up shooting a wedding reception at Stofa Restaurant tonight, and I couldn’t wait to rush home and write this review. As a wedding photographer, I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing countless venues, but Stofa truly stands out. The staff were absolutely phenomenal all night long—attentive, professional, and incredibly kind. They went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly, creating such a warm and welcoming atmosphere for everyone. Stofa is an exceptional choice for any intimate event, and I can’t wait for the chance to work with them again. Thank you, Stofa, for making tonight unforgettable! – Farrah, Ottawa Wedding Photographer ”
“ We went on Valentine's Day. They had for Valentine's menu as a course for 120 each. All plate portions were big, unlike other fine dining which was what I liked most. Most of the dishes we tried have a kind of fusion with Asians since the chef has an Asian background. For the first time tried Asian fusion fine dining, but it was so good! Their cocktails were good too. I recommend tequila cocktail Enamorada so unique! It was pricy but kind of worth it to try :) We will come back! ”
“ An absolutely fantastic gastronomic experience! We came here for a birthday and were not disappointed! The 5-course table d'hote consisted of rich textures and playful flavours. I was really taken back by how succulent the proteins were across all of the courses; I had an extremely tender wild boar for my main while my wife had the pasta featuring a melt-in-your-mouth chicken leg confit. But again, the experience is about the tapestry of flavours amongst all the courses. The service was very attentive and overall, it's a great place for a special occasion. ”
“ This is a gem in Ottawa! We were glad that we only ordered their 3-Course Table d'Hote (instead of the 5-Course Table d'Hote). We were full after the dessert (delicious Souffle). The ladies sat next to our table ordered 5-course and couldn't finish. For the food, both of us had "Mushroom Soup en Croute" which was the best mushroom soup we ever had. The soup had a creamy texture with a rich favour. The puff pastry on top was inviting! The bonus was the soup came to our table piping hot! This is what a soup is supposed to be! For the main, I ordered Seabass and my husband ordered Quail. Both of us were very happy with what we ordered. My Seabass was beautifully presented with poached pineapple, black beans, green beans, and others. The dish had a variety of flavours and each bite offered a balance of delicate fish, savory seasoning, fresh herbs, and bright citrus and sweetness. There was a bread on the side. I was full after finishing half of the delicious side bread (my husband ate the other half). My husband's Quail was stuffed with tender chicken, with a variety of delicious accompaniments (e.g., pistachios, apricot, squash, buttercup squash puree, pomegranate). These accompaniments not only enhanced the dish, but also added a variety of flavors and textures to the meal, making it more enjoyable and memorable. As our meal came to a close, we indulged in a scrumptious souffle served with ice cream. The delicate dessert was perfectly risen, with a golden, slightly crispy exterior that gave way to a light, airy interior. The flavor was a symphony of sweetness and richness, with every spoonful melting in the mouth. A perfect ending to a delightful meal. The service was also excellent - attentive, but not intrusive! P.S. Would be nice to warm up the bread provided before the meal starts. I myself always enjoy a warm bread instead of a cold bread. Something for the chefs to consider. ”
“ Our favourite restaurant! Everything is always so delicious. You can’t go wrong with any thing on the menu. We came here for my partner’s birthday and they made us feel special :) ”
“ We went to Stofa for a special occasion/date and were pleasantly surprised by this venue. I read few positive reviews before booking and then found 1 star reviews after I made reservation, which made me a little suspicious/conscious about my choice. I am glad I didn’t read bad reviews first, eventually:)) So I’ll give my feedback as bullet points. 1) intimate space if you want to go for a date, special occasion or business dinner. Many people, including us, were here for an anniversary. 2) no kids were at the venue, this felt like an adult place where you can actually enjoy the atmosphere and food! We were glad we left kids at home. 3) minimalistic decor which coincidentally fitted into our personal taste. Love it! 4) I loved the fact that after each course the flatware were changed! This is what you would expect from the restaurant like this. All the dinnerware was appropriate to its use as to my knowledge of the etiquette. Proper flutes for sparkling wine, proper espresso cup, adorable steak knives, etc. 5) we felt very comfortable being served, no judgement (visible at least) all servers well dressed, and I loved their aprons! 6) food was very good. I couldn’t find a single point to complain. We ordered 5 course meal and sparkling wine. We loved every piece of it. 7) although portions seemed small, we weren’t hungry after the visit, and I felt full 2/3 of course completion. The diversity of the flavours in the dishes made up for the amount of food. 8) we ordered Citrus Salad and Cod Cheeks for the starters, Duck breast and rabbit ragout for the main, and souffle and chocolate cake for dessert. I can’t describe flavours, but every dish was interesting and very well balanced. It was so perfect I was in doubt I was awake :) I liked the souffle, this is the best desert I’ve had in a long time. Well done! The chocolate cake was accessorized with side sweets with different flavours and ice cream. It was an explosion of flavours that complemented each other. I ended up liking a “chef’s choice” course that came within our 5 course menu. I don’t remember what it was, or what it was called, but that was the most amazing thing I ever tried in restaurant ( there was ricotta and polenta as part of the ingredients). It’s not cheap place, but it worth the visit! Thanks for that one review that made me choose this place :)) This IS the place that deserves to be called a Restaurant. Thank you chef, servers, and everyone involved. Will definitely come again! ”
“ We stopped by Stofa this weekend to celebrate our anniversary, it was a great choice. Stofa does one of those menus where you have to choose a three course or a five course option. We chose the five course with the wine pairing. It was just such a delightful night. Our server was so sweet and made sure to explain everything on the menu to us, food, and wine. I had asked for a few accommodations because I’m a vegetarian and she was more than happy to let me know about the alterations, the kitchen had made for me. Some of the options were just so tasty. I really liked their take on ice cream, which was a nitrogen infused ice cream that you had to break apart with a tiny little mallet. The ambiance of the place is perfect with great flourishes on all the walls and very comfortable seating. The washroom is super clean and we were Vibin all night to the music choices. It is not a cheap place but I would certainly recommend splurging if you were celebrating an anniversary or birthday. Five stars! ”
“ We had the chef suggested three course meal and it was wonderful. The patio at the front of the restaurant was very nice as well. ”
